Haryana: 21-year-old man booked for kidnapping & raping minor

Gurugram: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a 21-year-old man in her neighborhood, in a village in Bilaspur. The minor’s father had filed a police complaint on July 12 at the Bilaspur police station claiming that his daughter was raped on separate occasions for the past two months and was threatened if she told anyone about this, her family members would be killed.

According to the girl’s family, their daughter had become reclusive and hardly spoke to anyone. When she did not return home on July 8, her family members searched for her for several hours, after which she was found late at night at Bilaspur Chowk. On being asked, the girl told her family that the youth had raped her after kidnapping her from Chowk in the morning. “My daughter was repeatedly raped for the past two months and the man threatened to kill her and us,” the father told the police. Police said the girl is a Class VIII student and studies in a government school and the accused is her neighbor.

Police said the victim’s medical examination has confirmed sexual assault and they have also recorded her statement before the duty magistrate.

An FIR was registered against the person under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366A (pro curation minor girl), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and section 6 ( punishment for aggravated sexual assault) under the case was registered. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, on 13 July.
