The Election Commission will hold a hearing on December 12 regarding the Shiv Sena dispute

In a statement on Tuesday, the Election Commission announced the date for the first hearing between the two factions of the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The EC had requested both sides to submit supporting documents by November 23 in support of their claims to control of the party name and symbol. According to the official, the commission on Tuesday directed the two groups to submit any additional statements or documents by 5pm on December 9.
The commission has deferred its hearing scheduled for Tuesday in the dispute between Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras of the Lok Janshakti Party. As stated by the official, Paswan had requested postponement on account of his involvement in the Gujarat Assembly elections.
