The Etihad Airways company plans to expand its operations in India and to launch service between Kolkata and Abu Dhabi in March 2023

As of early next year, Etihad Airways intends to expand its flight network in India with additional services to Ahmedabad, Chennai, Cochin, and Delhi.

In addition, the Gulf carrier announced plans to launch a daily flight service from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata beginning on March 26, 2023, providing a total of seven non-stop services per week to the City of Joy.

There will be 8 seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class on the flights, which will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft.

As Etihad Airways re-establishes air links to Kolkata, it will expand its network to include additional flights to Ahmedabad (bringing the number of flights to two per day) and Chennai (twice per day), a spokesperson for the airline told PTI.

In addition, Cochin will be served by an additional six flights per week, bringing the total number of flights to 13 per week by March 26, 2023.

Delhi and Mumbai will also receive an additional daily service starting on April 24 next year.

From 77 weekly flights to 118 weekly flights, Etihad’s footprint in India will grow significantly with the reintroduction of flights to Kolkata and frequency increases on other routes.

As part of the return to Kolkata, Etihad Airways will also be flying double daily to New York, which will make it easier to access India and the United States via AbuDhabi, where guests can take advantage of Etihad Airways’ US pre-clearance facility to facilitate a seamless arrival in the United States, according to Martin Drew, Etihad Airways’ Senior Vice President for Global Sales & Cargo.
