The government calls an all-party meeting on Tuesday ahead of the winter session

During the Winter Session of Parliament starting December 7, the government convened an all-party meeting of floor leaders to discuss the legislative agenda and important issues.
Separately, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will lead the business advisory committee meeting on Tuesday evening. Sources said he called a BAC meeting instead of the customary all-party meeting on the eve of the session.
Members of the BAC discuss the legislative agenda of the House, as well as other issues.
In the Winter Session, the government is introducing 16 new bills.
Pralhad Joshi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, invited floor leaders of various parties to the all-party meeting. There’s a good chance Narendra Modi will be there.
It starts a day before the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, as well as six assemblies and one Lok Sabha byelection.
For the smooth functioning of both houses, the government has also sought the cooperation of party leaders.
There will be 17 sittings spread over 23 days during the Winter Session of Parliament, which starts on December 7.
