The nomination of BJP politician Khushbu Sundar as a member of the National Commission for Women

Khushbu Sundar, a former Bollywood actor and BJP leader, has been nominated as a National Commission for Women (NCW) member.

Sundar, a member of the national executive committee of the BJP, announced her new position on her official social media account.

She stated on social media, “I thank our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the government of India for entrusting me with such a massive duty. I will work hard to safeguard, nurture, and nourish Nari Shakthi, thriving under your leadership and expanding by leaps and bounds. Looking ahead with great anticipation. India, she tweeted.

As her nomination was confirmed, congratulations flooded in for the BJP leader.

The leader of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, K Annamalai, congratulated the actor-turned-politician on his nomination to the NCW.

Annamalai greeted the BJP leader via a tweet: “On behalf of BJP4TamilNadu, congratulations to National executive committee member Smt. Khushbu Sundar on being nominated as a National Commission for Women member.”

“This is an acknowledgement of her unrelenting pursuit and struggles for women’s rights!” he added.

Sundar joined the BJP and ran as the party’s candidate for the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency in 2021, however, she was defeated by N Ezhilan of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

The actor-turned-politician first joined the DMK, then became the national spokesperson for the Congress, and finally joined the BJP.
