The Union Health Ministry has sent a team to Uttar Pradesh to assess the situation regarding dengue

The Union health ministry has rushed a high-level, multidisciplinary team to take stock of the dengue situation in three districts of Uttar Pradesh — Firozabad, Agra and Etawah — and to recommend the appropriate public health interventions to manage the increasing number of cases in the state.

State health authorities will be closely involved with the six-member team. In addition to Dr V K Chaudhary from the regional office of Health and Family Welfare in Lucknow, the team includes experts from the National Center for Disease Control, the National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control, and the Dr RML Hospital.

There has been an increase in dengue cases in UP recently, particularly after recent periods of heavy rain, according to health officials.
