After failing to appear in court in connection with a case about the seizure of poll material in 2019, local BJP MP Arun Kumar Sagar has been declared an absconder by a special MP/MLA court here.
He was declared an absconder on November 21 by Judge Asma Sultana.
It was reported that on the Bareilly-Jalalabad road, the then SDM Sadar seized the campaign materials of BJP candidate Sagar and registered a case against him during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
According to Neelima Saxena, Special Public Prosecution Officer, Sagar failed to appear before the court despite several summonses. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against him.
The court ordered a copy of the order to be pasted in public places and at the MP’s residence.
