‘There’s a lot of worry about demographic changes along border areas,’ says Amit Shah

Amit Shah, the union home minister, said demographic changes along border areas are worrisome and the security forces need to be alert.

After reviewing Kishanganj’s international border security, he said that.

According to the home minister, PM Narendra Modi’s government is doing everything it can to keep the border areas safe and develop.

Shah said the demographic changes taking place along border areas are very worrying, and the security forces should stay alert.

During the border guarding forces’ review meeting, various important issues including security along the India-Bangladesh, India-Nepal, and India-Bhutan borders, as well as security in the Siliguri corridor, were discussed.

There were chiefs from BSF, SSB, ITBP and senior officials from the three border guarding forces there, plus Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai.

In addition to checking fake Aadhaars and voter cards, smuggling cows, and illegal infiltration, Shah ordered the forces to look for other problems.

Aside from that, he told the forces to be extra vigilant and deal with all these things more strictly.

Shah tweeted in Hindi that he discussed various topics related to border security in a meeting with directors general and senior officers of the BSF, SSB, and ITBP.

Security at the borders is our top priority, along with the development of the border areas, and for this reason, modern technology and all possible facilities are being provided to the security forces,” he stated.

During his visit to Kishanganj, Shah also observed Pillar Nos. 151 and 152 as well as reviewed various activities along the Indo-Nepal border area with the SSB.

He inaugurated the BOP buildings in Fatehpur, Pektola, Beria, Amgachi, and Raniganj.

The home minister visited Fatehpur BOP where he interacted with the personnel and enjoyed refreshments with them.

The BSF is responsible for guarding the Indo-Pakistan and Indo-Bangla borders, while the ITBP is responsible for looking after the Sino-Indian border.

As well as guarding the border between India and Nepal, the SSB also guards the border between India and Bhutan.

The Shah had earlier offered prayers at Kishanganj’s Budhi Kali Mata Temple, which is a prominent Hindu temple.
