Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will support opposition candidate Margaret Alva in the vice-presidential election, party leader Keshava Rao said on Friday.
TRS parliamentary leader Rao said party president K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to support the joint opposition candidate Alva.
Rao said outside Parliament that TRS MPs have been advised to vote accordingly.
He said that Alva will meet the TRS MPs in the evening.
In the presidential election too, TRS supported the opposition and supported Yashwant Sinha.
The opposition has fielded Alva against the ruling NDA’s candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar.
The Vice Presidential election will be held on Saturday.
