UP: RSS worker thrashed by cops, 10 booked

Ten policemen were booked and one of them was suspended after an RSS worker was allegedly thrashed at his police post after a road rage incident here.
On learning about the incident, RSS and BJP workers blocked the Badaun road. According to the complaint given by Budaun native and RSS pracharak Aryanendra Kumar, the policeman’s vehicle was thrashed by sub-inspector Ankit Kumar when he could not give space for the policeman’s vehicle to pass.
Kumar was taken to a police post, where he was held and beaten up for over an hour. Kumar said the incident happened on Thursday when he was returning home from a hospital where his mother is admitted for the past several days.
Circle Officer Ashish Pratap Singh said that Sub-Inspector Ankit Kumar has been suspended. A case has been registered against Kumar and nine other policemen at Subhash Nagar police station here, he said.
When the information of this incident reached the RSS and BJP workers, dozens of their leaders including Amla MP Dharmendra Kashyap reached there and blocked the Badaun road.
Amidst the uproar that lasted till midnight, two sub-inspectors and eight constables have been accused of kidnapping and assaulting an RSS worker by taking hostage.
Senior Superintendent of Police Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj said that action would be taken against those found guilty.
