Upper House ‘works’ for 3 minutes in two parts, then adjourns. With

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned two minutes after it convened for the day on Thursday. Both the Treasury and Opposition benches continued interrupting proceedings as they had all week.

As the Upper House reassembled at 11 a.m., BJP MPs maintained their demand for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to apologise for his recent remarks about India made abroad. Trinamool Congress MPs were protesting in the House Well, their mouths bound with a piece of cloth. Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party was also visible in the Well as Congress Members protested from their seats.

With both parties continuing to disturb the proceedings, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar delayed the proceedings to 2 p.m. at 11.02 a.m.

Once the House reconvened for the afternoon session, the situation remained the same, with some MPs already in the Well of the House. The members were invited to return to their seats and allow the proceedings to continue by Deputy Chairman Harivansh. But, with members still protesting, he adjourned the House for the day at 2.01 p.m.
