Uttarakhand Three caught up for irregularities in Panchayat Officer Examination 2016

The Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday arrested three people, including former chairman of Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC), RBS Rawat, former controller of examination RS Pokhariya and secretary Manohar Kanyal, for allegedly tampering with the VPDO (Gram Panchayat Development Officer) recruitment examination. Describing the most significant action in this matter so far, Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami said that his government would not allow injustice to happen. “The investigating agencies are doing their job. None of those responsible will be spared. The government is ensuring that all examinations are fair and transparent in future. Today’s arrest is an example so that no one can dare to rig any exam in future.

In 2016, UKSSSC conducted the VPDO exam on March 6 at 236 exam centres. Over 87,000 candidates appeared, and the results were declared on March 30. Following several allegations of irregularities, an inquiry commission was constituted in 2017 under the chairmanship of the then Additional Chief Secretary. The results were annulled after the committee’s recommendation and the High Court’s order.
