We should stop calling each other star wives: ‘Nobody calls each other star husbands’, says Mira Rajput.
YouTuber and content creator Mira Rajput, married to actor Shahid Kapoor, says that “star wife” shouldn’t be used since no one calls a female actor’s husband a star.
Mira told Janice Sequeira that she understands why people used this phrase for “recall value”, but she doesn’t get the concept of a star wife. “We should move on now,” she said. Maybe it was an association you had to make for recall value. But even if you put that on a kid, like a star kid, people don’t like that because of all the nepotistic connotations. Nonetheless, that term still gets used, like it needs to find its way out, and I’ve never understood the concept of star wife; what does that mean?”

Further, Mira talked about how heroes’ wives still get called star wives, but female stars’ husbands don’t get called star husbands. She said, “You can have an actor, celebrity or star who has a wife or a husband, but nobody says star husband, so why is there a star wife?” I don’t even care.”
The two are parents to two kids, a daughter Misha and a son Zain, after getting married in July 2015.
