World Economic Forum liftoffs ‘schooling 4.0 India Report’

The World Economic Forum launched a new ‘Education 4.0 India Report’ on bridging learning gaps and making education accessible to all with the help of technology. The report has been released in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) and Yuvah (Generation Unlimited India).

While India has made significant progress in solving some of the most pressing problems in education, nearly 70 per cent of children in Class 3 in India are reported to have no essential reading and arithmetic skills. To eliminate this problem, storytelling, reading aloud and interactive materials, flip books and digital tools can be used to make learning fun and interesting for school students.

“The most successful uses of online learning and digital content during the pandemic have shown their power to provide access to the best learning resources to far-flung students, apart from enabling students to study at their own pace and receive personalized content and assessments. Has performed. ,” the report stated.

The report suggests using personalized worksheets and videos at home and creating digital communities with the help of teachers. Apart from several other solutions, the report also indicated that video content, homework and quizzes are distributed daily on WhatsApp to promote goal-based learning. According to the report, it can also enable sensitization and capacity building among parents.

Through this report, the organizations aim to address inequalities in India’s education sector and hope to empower and engage youth. It proposes a roadmap to reform India’s school system and serves as a call to action for all ed-tech stakeholders to unite to transform this sector.
