A 21-year-old was arrested Sunday after police allege he raped a minor girl and posted a video of the crime online.
Brijendra Singh Rawat, Station House Officer, Bhopa Police Station, said, “A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man who befriended her at a coaching center.” The accused is currently absconding after an FIR of rape was filed, he added, adding that the matter is being investigated.
A complaint lodged by the victim’s family claims the incident took place in January, but the victim did not inform them.
On Saturday, the accused shared a video of the entire incident on social media. A police complaint was filed by the victim’s family when they learned of the incident, according to the SHO.
POCSO Act and IT Act sections have been applied to the accused.
