Active Covid cases in the nation have risen to 57,542

The number of active coronavirus infections in India increased to 57,542 on Sunday, according to updated data from the Union Ministry of Health.

The death toll has risen to 5,31,114 with the addition of 23 fatalities.

Five deaths were reported in Delhi, three in Chattisgarh and Rajasthan, two in Karnataka and Maharashtra, one each in Haryana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand, and four in Kerala, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

There was a daily positivity rate of 5.61 percent and a weekly positivity rate of 4.78 percent.

The total number of Covid cases was 4.47 billion (4,488,18,115). Active cases currently account for 0.13 percent of all infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.68 percent, according to the website of the health ministry.

The number of individuals who have recovered from the disease increased to 4,422,949, while the case fatality rate was recorded as 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry’s website, a total of 220.66 billion doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
