Vagir, the fifth submarine of the Navy’s Scorpene-class, will be commissioned on January 23.

The Navy will commission its fifth diesel-electric Scorpene-class submarine, Vagir, the following week, the Navy announced Thursday.

Vagir is one of six submarines being constructed in India by the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) of Mumbai, in conjunction with the French M/s Naval Group, as part of the Project 75, which costs over Rs23,000 crore.
