The number of new coronavirus infections in India is 10,542, while the number of active cases has increased to 63,562 as of Wednesday’s update from the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll has risen to 5,31,190 with 38 fatalities, including 11 deaths reconciled by Kerala, according to data updated at 8:00 a.m.
The total number of Covid cases was 4.47 billion (4,488,45,401). The daily positivity rate was 4.39 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 5.1%.
The active cases now account for 0.14 percent of all infections, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has reached 98.67 percent, according to the ministry.
The number of individuals who have recovered from the disease increased to 4,425,649, while the case fatality rate reached 1.18 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 billion doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
