Shiv Sena office in Parliament assigned to Eknath Shinde faction: LS Secretariat

Once the Election Commission recognised the Eknath Shinde-led faction as the legitimate Shiv Sena, the Lok Sabha Secretariat assigned the Shiv Sena office in Parliament House to the faction.

In response to a letter filed by the floor leader of the Shinde faction, Rahul Shewalae, the Lok Sabha Secretariat announced that the designated room for the Sena office in the Parliament building has been assigned to the party.

The election commission acknowledged the Shinde group as the original Shiv Sena last week, allowing it to use the “bow and arrow” symbol in elections, effectively denying Uddhav Thackeray any claim to the party his father, Bal Thackeray, founded in 1966.

The following day, on February 18, Shewale sent a letter to the Lok Sabha Secretariat requesting the office for the party.

Both factions have utilised the Shiv Sena office in the Parliament House thus far.
