Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was happy on Thursday that the Supreme Court had given Pawan Khera an interim bail. The Assam police had forced Khera off the plane at the Delhi airport and then arrested him because of his comments about PM Modi.

“The government of the BJP tried to bother Pawan Khera. I’m glad that the Supreme Court let Pawan Khera out on bail. It’s a slap in the face, and I don’t like what BJP did, Kharge was quoted as saying by ANI.
The leader of the party also said that the opposition couldn’t bring up important issues in Parliament. He said that the BJP’s central government is trying to stop people from being able to say what they want.
The leader of the party criticised Khera’s arrest by saying, “When the opposition brings up issues in Parliament, they get notices. On the night before our plenary meeting, raids are done in Chhattisgarh on our leaders. Today, the head of our media department was taken off a plane and put in jail. India’s democracy has been turned into a Hitlershahi by the Modi government. We strongly disagree with this dictatorship,” Kharge wrote on Twitter.
Khera and a few other Congress leaders took an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Raipur on Thursday morning. The party’s plenary session will start there on Friday. Khera was asked to leave the plane before it could take off. All of the passengers from Congress got off the plane and protested on the tarmac.
Kharge also criticised the ED and I-T raids on party leaders in Chhattisgarh that were happening before the 85th plenary session of the Congress’s central decision-making body. He said that the BJP is trying to stop the session from happening, but that the people of Chhattisgarh are working to make it happen.
In a February 17 press conference, Khera made fun of PM Modi by calling him “Narendra Gautamdas Modi” instead of “Narendra Damodardas Modi.” Damodardas Modi is the name of the PM’s late father.
Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched the offices of three Chhattisgarh government departments in connection with a money laundering case involving the alleged coal levy scam in the state. Earlier on Monday, the ED went to the homes and offices of eight Congress leaders. This caused the party to protest.
