Drishyam 2 Third Saturday Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer jumps 100 percent; Adds over Rs 8 crore

On day 16, Drishyam 2 added over Rs 8 crore to its box office total; the Ajay Devgn starrer jumps by 100 percent.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is a bonafide blockbuster with two great weeks at the box office. In its first two weeks, the film snatched up over Rs. 160 cr nett, and it’s on its way to becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year.

The film started week 3 on a very positive note, as it topped the Indian Box Office for the third straight week. Last week’s release Bhediya and this week’s release, An Action Hero, ranked second and third respectively, among Hindi movie audiences. On its third Friday, Drishyam 2 earned Rs. 4.25 crore nett, but it’s the third Saturday that’s sparked a surprise with a double day. Saturday, its 16th ticketing day, is expected to be around Rs. 8.25 – 8.5 crore nett and Sunday could be around Rs. 10 crore. In week 4, it’ll hit Rs. 200 cr nett, then it’ll be all about how it holds up after the release of Avatar: The Way Of Water, which will go all guns blazing.

With so many holds in the overseas circuit, Drishyam 2 could reach 7 million dollars as its overseas cume has already crossed 5 million dollars. The film has the potential to be Ajay Devgn’s biggest overseas hit, beating Golmaal Again and Total Dhamaal.
