Big Day for Rajasthan: Cabinet Expansion on Cards as CM Meets Amit Shah to Finalize Ministerial Probables

After weeks of wait, Rajasthan to get a full-fledged cabinet tomorrow as CM discusses portfolio allocation with BJP top brass

Jaipur: After weeks of wait since the BJP’s thumping victory in Rajasthan, the desert state is finally set to get a full-fledged cabinet tomorrow.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who took oath along with his deputies nearly a month ago, is in Delhi today for decisive talks on portfolio allocation with BJP top brass, including Home Minister Amit Shah.

According to sources, the CM will finalize the names of ministers to be sworn in after discussions with Shah. He is also likely to meet Governor Kalraj Mishra later tonight to seek time for the oath-taking ceremony.

While the exact names of ministerial probables remain under wraps, what is adding to the excitement is the suspense around some key portfolios like home and education.

With former CM Ashok Gehlot now appointed as the state party chief, it needs to be seen if his loyalists manage to secure plum posts. Gehlot and Sachin Pilot were locked in a power tussle earlier, which led to the high command finally deciding to appoint a new CM ahead of polls.

Tomorrow’s expansion will be the first litmus test of the new power equation within the Rajasthan BJP. For the people, it will start the governance clock ticking as a full cabinet takes charge to fulfill the party’s poll promises.
