The third Test between England and South Africa is to resume on Saturday

England’s third and deciding Test against South Africa at The Oval will renew on Saturday after being laid over for an alternate day on Friday following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

The England and Wales Cricket Board( ECB) said, “ Cricket will renew on Saturday to pay homage to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and recognize her remarkable life and service ”. On Thursday the opening day was washed out by rain and no redundant days will be tagged, meaning the series decider is now effectively a three-day Test. On Tuesday we bandied with Cricket South Africa but they had to go home to spend many days at home before leaving for India and Australia.

” Therefore tomorrow( Saturday) is verified as the third day of the five-day Test match.”

Domestic and recreational justice matches will also go ahead over the weekend in line with official national mourning guidance and the England Women’s Twenty20 against India will also be played on Saturday.

The Football Association said that all matches in England would be laid over and Rugby will continue over the weekend. A minute’s silence will be observed at the Oval after the national anthem, said the ECB. The ECB also said that all players and coaches will wear a black band. Branded inventory to be replaced with cricket’s respectful messaging to The Queen.

England captain Ben Stokes said on Twitter” He loved the game, feel honored to play in his memory.” The series is closed at 1- 1.
