With yet another big brand now providing 5G support for Jio’s network in India, just a small number of brands, primarily Google’s Pixel series of smartphones, remain without it.

The Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series, which are supported phones, will receive 5G-ready software updates from Google by December 2022, but users will also be able to utilise 5G on the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, which, although never being formally introduced in India, were widely imported from other nations.

In India, compatible phones from other manufacturers, including Apple, Samsung, Nothing, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme, have all received 5G-ready software updates.
