“Cowardly,” says Sisodia about the Centre’s decision to let the snooping case go to court.

The ministry of home affairs has given permission for Manish Sisodia to be prosecuted under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Feedback Unit snooping case. This was reported by the news agency ANI. The news comes at a time when the CBI is watching Sisodia in the liquor policy case. The CBI made the spying claims against Sisodia in a report. The report said that after the Aam Aadmi Party won power in Delhi in 2015, they set up a feedback unit to gather political intelligence. Sisodia called the move “cowardly” and said that making false accusations against competitors is a sign of a weak person. “As the Aam Aadmi Party grows, many more cases will be brought against us,” Sisodia said in a tweet.

The alleged spying unit was led by Manish Sisodia, the CBI report said. The AAP had already denied the charges. “So far, the CBI, the ED (Enforcement Directorate), and the Delhi Police have filed 163 cases against us. BJP hasn’t been able to prove a single case, though. About 134 of these cases have been thrown out by the courts, and the BJP-led Centre has not been able to show any proof in the rest. The Delhi government had said before that the charges were false, “These cases are politically motivated.”

Earlier, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena gave the CBI permission to bring charges against Sisodia and sent the request to the home ministry.

In its report, the CBI said that the feedback unit was set up on September 29, 2015, after a cabinet decision. The CBI said that the unit, which was led by Sisodia, had no legal basis in law or court but was spying on politicians.

CBI said that there was no plan for the unit and that the then-L-G was not asked for permission. The agency said that the unit started working in 2016 with 1 crore set aside for secret service costs. 60 percent of the FBU’s reports were about vigilance and corruption, while 40 percent were about “political intelligence” and other issues, according to the report.

“The BJP has made new claims against me. They say that I have been spying on them since 2015. “If such powerful people, whose livelihoods depend on using the CBI, ED, and Pegasus to plot against opposition leaders, are afraid of me, it seems that I have also become as powerful as Modi,” Sisodia tweeted after the allegations came out.
