100 Chartered Flights Bring Dignitaries to Ayodhya for Ram Temple Ceremony

The historic consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya witnessed the arrival of over 100 chartered flights ferrying dignitaries on Monday. About 90 VIP flights had already landed at the Ayodhya airport on Sunday for the grand event.

Leading industrialists, political leaders and celebrities made their way to Ayodhya on special flights for the temple’s ‘pran pratishtha’ conducted by PM Modi. The increased traffic saw hectic activity at the airport over the two days.

Officials confirmed around 100 chartered aircraft carrying invitees landed in Ayodhya on Monday alone. Of these, 50 were business jets bringing in prominent corporate leaders like Mukesh Ambani and Lakshmi Mittal.

On Sunday, around 90 VIP flights had arrived in the city carrying dignitaries like Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar who took part in the grand celebrations.

Meanwhile, SpiceJet announced discounted ticket fares starting Rs 1,622 to Ayodhya beginning Jan 22 till Jan 28. The offer is valid for travel till Sept 30, 2024 on first come first serve basis.

Additionally, SpiceJet will launch new flights connecting Ayodhya with cities like Delhi, Patna and Jaipur from Feb 1 onwards. It already operates services from Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai to the holy city.

The slew of new connectivity and special fares come at an opportune time when tourist interest in Ayodhya has peaked after the Ram Mandir milestone. The uptick in flight services will boost travel to the historic town.
