NIA conducts raids in three states
Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat as part of its investigation into the ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ terror module that was dismantled last year in Bihar. Eight suspects’ homes in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Valsad, Surat, and Botad, Gujarat were searched, and digital gadgets (mobile phones and memory cards) and documents were seized.
The case arises from a July 2022 FIR filed by the Bihar Police at the Phulwari Sharif police station in Patna against members of the Pakistan-operated and -controlled ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ module. According to the NIA, the module attempted to radicalise young Indians with the ultimate goal of India’s conquest – Ghazwa-e-Hind.
