VVIPs to descend on Ayodhya for Ram Mandir inauguration; CM Yogi says 100 charter planes to land

On January 22, Ram Mandir is set to host a congregation of prominent personalities for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony

The inauguration of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is drawing near and the guest list promises to be star-studded. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that around 100 charter planes carrying VVIP guests will land at the recently inaugurated Ayodhya airport on January 22 for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

The airport is expected to be abuzz with the arrival of high-profile dignitaries like industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan among others. The heavy flight traffic will also test the capacity of the new airport.

The Ayodhya airport commenced operations last month with the launch of the first flight connecting it to Ahmedabad. More cities are now being connected to Ayodhya through air routes ahead of the grand Ram Mandir inauguration.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who virtually flagged off the Ahmedabad-Ayodhya flight, said five more airports will be inaugurated in UP within a month. With the rapid aviation infrastructure growth in UP, the number of airports has increased from 6 in 2014 to 15 now.

As Ayodhya prepares to etch its name in history books, the temple town looks set to receive distinguished guests from various walks of life on January 22. The grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony will mark the official inauguration of the long-awaited Ram Mandir, cementing Ayodhya’s status as one of India’s most important religious sites. The crowds descending on the town will witness first-hand the re-emergence of Ayodhya as a major travel destination.
