Sanjay Raut takes jibe at PM Modi over Ayodhya visit, calls him ‘biggest Shankaracharya’

Shiv Sena leader questions if PM will visit Manipur's Ram Mandir after Uddhav Thackeray faction plans to offer prayers there

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his forthcoming visit to Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir inauguration.

In sarcastic remarks, Raut said “Narendra Modi has become the biggest Shankaracharya in the country.” He pointed out that the temple is still incomplete, yet set for ‘pran pratishtha’ despite opposition from all four Shankaracharyas.

Raut alleged Modi and BJP drew up Ayodhya plans after Uddhav Thackeray faction announced their visit to the Kalaram Temple in Nashik. “We will now go to Manipur’s Ram Mandir. Will PM also go there and bow his head?” asked Raut.

The Sena leader questioned Speaker Rahul Narvekar’s decision to retain the Eknath Shinde government, terming it unjust when all evidence of constitutional amendment was submitted by his party.

Raut said the public will not forgive Shinde, whose election forms were signed by Uddhav Thackeray as party president. He accused the Speaker of being ‘blind and deaf like Dhritarashtra.’

The remarks underscore the bitterness within Sena after the party split last year. As the PM prepares to visit Ayodhya’s mega event, Raut’s caustic words reflect his faction’s attempt to claim the Hindutva legacy attached to the Ram Mandir movement. The brazen comments also indicate that the power tussle between the Sena factions is far from over.
