NIA will investigate the London assault on the Indian High Commision
The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file a fresh case in relation to the March 19 attack on the Indian High Commission in London by pro-Khalistan protesters.
The MHA has also instructed the Delhi Police Special Cell, which filed a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act last month, to pass the investigation over to the NIA.
According to sources, the decision was made after the preliminary investigation revealed a terror link involving Pakistan’s ISI and the Centre demanded a comprehensive investigation.

“Whereas, the Central government has received information regarding the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) on March 23, 2023 at the Special Cell police station under IPC Sections 109, 147, 148, 149, 1208, 448, 452, 325 and Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, section 3(1) of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984, and section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honours Act, 1971,

“And whereas, the Central Government is of the opinion that a Scheduled Offence under the NIA Act, 2008, has been committed, and in view of the gravity of the offence and its national and international links, it is necessary for the NIA to investigate in accordance with…”, the order stated. On the premise of a complaint filed by an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Delhi Police filed a FIR.
