Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina invites India to utilise Chattogram and Sylhet ports.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited India to use the country’s ports at Chattogram and Sylhet, claiming that doing so will improve connectivity and people-to-people contacts in the region.

The port of Chhattogram is an important seaport in Bangladesh, and it is strategically positioned due to its proximity to India’s North-Eastern states.

“India can use our Chattogram and Sylhet ports if they desire,” Prime Minister Hasina was quoted as saying by the Dhaka Tribune newspaper when Ram Madhav of the India Foundation paid her a visit at her official house Ganabhaban on Sunday.

Prime Minister Hasina stated that this action would improve regional connections and people-to-people contacts.

According to the source, Hasina sent her greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her contact with Madhav.

Madhav praised Bangladesh’s socioeconomic progress under Hasina’s leadership.

“As neighbouring countries, Bangladesh and India enjoy wonderful friendship, and we hope that this connection will continue in the future,” he was cited as saying in the report.
