Revered Seer Devraha Baba Had Predicted Construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya

The ascetic who lived for over 250 years was revered by leaders across political spectrum

As the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya approaches, an image of the revered seer Devraha Baba features prominently in the invitation booklet titled ‘Sankalp’.

Known as the ‘Miraculous Baba’, Devraha Baba had predicted the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya back in 1990, even before the disputed structure was demolished in 1992. His prophecy is now coming true with the grand temple set to be open to devotees soon.

Devraha Baba was a hugely influential figure who lived for over 250 years. Clad in a single cloth, he gave darshan to devotees from a 12-feet high wooden scaffold in his Mathura ashram. Top political leaders and dignitaries like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr Rajendra Prasad and Dr Zakir Hussain used to visit him frequently for blessings.

Owing to his spiritual powers, Baba Devraha could foresee events of the future with stunning accuracy. He played a seminal role in the Ram temple movement through such predictions to bolster the resolve of devotees. His efforts and blessings were crucial in making this long-cherished dream a reality.

Even former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who is often blamed for delaying the temple construction, was held in high regard by Devraha Baba. The seer described Gandhi as a ‘very good soul’ who would cooperate in building the temple.

Baba Devraha’s soothing message was one of friendship and harmony between Hindus and Muslims. He maintained that the temple would be built with everyone’s cooperation in a peaceful manner.

Though Devraha Baba sadly passed away in 1990 before seeing his prophecy come true, the consecration ceremony will be a fitting tribute to the far-sighted sage who was revered across the political spectrum for his wisdom and spiritual powers.
