Rahul Gandhi Embarks on ‘Unite India Justice March’ from January 14

Congress leader to travel over 6,700 km highlighting social, economic and political justice

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will embark on a nationwide march titled “Unite India Justice March” starting January 14, aiming to highlight issues of social, economic and political justice in the country.

The march will be flagged off by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Imphal, the capital of Manipur. It will span over 6,700 km across 15 states over the course of 67 days before culminating in Mumbai.

According to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the march will pass through 110 districts and 100 Lok Sabha constituencies. It will cover parts of northeastern states like Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya before moving towards West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and finally Maharashtra.

The key purpose of the march is to enable Rahul Gandhi to directly engage with people and highlight issues of inequality, injustice and economic hardships affecting various sections of society. It comes ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls as a crucial outreach program for the Congress party.

The march follows the 4,000 km long ‘Unite India March’ undertaken by Rahul Gandhi last year from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. The Congress has described it as a turning point for energizing the party cadre.

The grand old party is mobilizing its state units and alliance partners to make the ‘Unite India Justice March’ a resounding success. With assembly elections due in several major states this year, the march represents an opportunity for the Congress to boost its electoral fortunes and emerge as a formidable challenger to the ruling BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
