PM Narendra Modi condoles the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and said he was widely acclaimed as a humble and down-to-earth leader who was sensitive to the problems of the people.
Yadav, 82, failed at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
“Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was extensively appreciated as a humble and down-to-earth leader who was sensitive to the people’s problems,” Modi stated.
The Prime Minister said he served the people diligently and dedicated his life to popularizing the ideals of Jayaprakash Narayan and Ram Manohar Lohia.

Modi said that as defense minister, Yadav worked for a strong India and that his parliamentary interventions were practical.
Yadav stressed advancing the national interest, the prime minister said.

“When we served as Chief Ministers of our respective states, I had many conversations with Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji. The close association continued, and I was constantly looking forward to catching on to his views,” Modi stated.
Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji distinguished himself in UP and national politics. He was a key soldier for democracy during the Emergency. As Defence Minister, he worked for a stronger India.
