Fans Burst into Celebrations as Prabhas-starrer ‘Salaar’ Hits Theatres

Hyderabad, December 22: Fans of Telugu superstar Prabhas were seen celebrating with unbridled enthusiasm across theatres in Hyderabad as his much-awaited action film 'Salaar' released on Friday.

Theatres screening the film erupted into festivities, with fans lighting up the screens with flare torches and firecrackers during Prabhas’ entry scene. Videos circulating on social media showed crowds of fans dancing vigorously and cheering loudly inside packed theatres.

One video from Sandhya Theatre, a popular single-screen theatre in Hyderabad, showed Prabhas fans turning the venue into a celebration ground. Massive cut-outs of the actor were set up alongside digital posters of the film Salaar. The electric atmosphere indicated the loyal fan following the ‘Baahubali’ star commands.

‘Salaar’ marks Prabhas’ return to hardcore action after a gap of four years. Directed by Prashanth Neel of ‘KGF’ fame, the film sees Prabhas play an assassin with a mysterious past.

Much like Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, ‘Salaar’ has also received an ‘A’ certificate from the censors due to intense action sequences. The film locked horns at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, which hit screens on Thursday.

The overwhelmed response from Prabhas supporters shows that the pan-India star enjoys a solid fanbase who will throng to theatres to watch their favourite hero in a high-octane role. It remains to be seen if ‘Salaar’ will replicate the box office success of Prabhas’ previous outings like ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Saaho’.
