PM Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discuss strategic ties and invite Netanyahu to visit India.

PM Narendra Modi spoke with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Wednesday. It was Modi and Netanyahu’s first phone call since the Israeli leader was sworn in as Prime Minister for a sixth term almost two weeks ago.

“It was a joy speaking with my good friend, @netanyahu. Congratulated him on his historic election victory and appointment as Prime Minister for the sixth time. “I am overjoyed that we will have another opportunity to advance the India-Israel Strategic Partnership together,” Modi tweeted.

According to a PMO statement, Modi offered Netanyahu to visit India at an early date during the meeting. “The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Netanyahu on his election as Prime Minister of Israel for the sixth time, and wished him a very prosperous tenure,” the statement stated.

“The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the recent rapid development in the India-Israel Strategic Partnership and agreed on the potential for further increasing strategic collaboration in a variety of areas.”
