According to The Deccan Era, the Government of India plans to hold five key meetings during the country’s G20 presidency between December 2022 and November 2023 at Khajuraho, Bhubaneswar, Hampi and Agra, focusing on the “culture track”.
As part of India’s G20 Presidency from December 2022 to November 2023, the government will host five important meetings focusing on”the “culture track” in Khajuraho, Bhubaneswar, Hampi and Agra, Deccan Era has discovered.
The cities were chosen chiefly due to well-known monuments and UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Taj Mahal and Agra Fort (UP) as well as Agra Fort (UP), Hindu as well as Jain Temples in Khajuraho (Madhya in the state of Pradesh) and in particular, the Konark Sun Temple around 65 kilometres away of Bhubaneswar (Odisha) including the temples in Hampi (Karnataka). For the culture track, a G20 Secretariat has been set up within the Ministry of Culture, which will employ a professional organization “for research documentation, coordination and research to support the G20 work-stream on culture,” According to the records that were reviewed in The Indian Express. Alongside the five meetings, approximately 250 cultural events will be scheduled at the sidelines of the meetings for the delegates throughout the G20 presidency, according to officials.
Establishing the agenda for the culture of the meetings, the documents declare: “This presidency also provides an excellent possibility for India to help shape the global agenda of the subject of culture across a variety of fields of work and engagement. They include the following: a) protection and restoration of cultural property as well as) development of traditional practices of a culture to promote sustainable living as well as third) promotion of creative and cultural industries that generate income in addition) preservation and diffusion of culture using technology.”
In the past, Siliguri, Rann of Kutch, Kashmir and Goa were selected as locations for different G20 gatherings, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The Indian presidency is expected to be made an opportunity to promote India as the top tourist destination with the delegates taking familiarisation trips.
In the G20 Presidency, which will begin on December 1, India will invite Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and UAE as guest countries. It is the G20 is an intergovernmental body comprised of 19 countries that include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey as well as the UK as well as the US -as well as of course, the European Union.
