Bringing back Hack & Reboot 2.0: IIT Kanpur invites applications for a hackathon that will award a cash prize of Rs 7 lakh to the winning team

With great pleasure, we announce that the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur is seeking applicants for Hack & Reboot 2.0, a national-level hackathon that takes place annually. Interested candidates can check details at the official IIT Kanpur website — iitk.ac.in.

In accordance with the TIDE 2.0 scheme, Hack and Reboot 2.0 is being organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The program is intended to assist technology startups working in emerging technologies with financial and technical assistance.

Under the TIDE 2.0 program, prototype funds will be awarded to selected solutions in the Healthcare and Clean Energy sectors.

In accordance with the official schedule released by IIT Kanpur, the application window for Hack and Reboot 2.0 will be open until December 18, 2022. The pitch presentation round will be held at IIT Kanpur’s Outreach Center, Noida, following that.

Participants are required to select a problem statement from SIIC’s webpage, develop their own problem statement, and then develop prototypes that specifically address that problem statement. A total of Rs 7 lakh will be awarded to the winner, Rs 6 lakh to the second-place team, and Rs 5 lakh to the third-place team.

Candidates will benefit from this hackathon by gaining access to IIT Kanpur infrastructure and mentorship, funding opportunities, industry connections, and an opportunity to participate in a physical incubation program at IIT Kanpur’s SIIC.
