Apple watchOS 9 was released with enhanced health features, improved sleep insights, and more.

Starting today (Sep 13, 2022) Apple rolled out the new watchOS 9 to all acceptable watches all around the world. The new OS comes with a truckload of new features which will be beneficial to users in so many ways. Apple unveiled watchOS first at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June alongside iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and more in June.

What are the features of the Apple watchOS 9?

          

The watchOS 9 comes with so many more features which include medication reminders, new watch faces, an enhanced Workout app, improved sleep insights, and many more.

The new watchOS 9 imports new four watch faces- Metropolitan, Playtime, Astronomy, and Lunar. The Apple Watch is also proficient to supervise how long a person has been in Afib (atrial fibrillation). The new feature also records your heart’s history and hands over a chart to share with your doctor.

How to download WatchOs 9?

Before you upgrade your Apple Watch, you must download iOS 16 to your phone. iOS 16 can be downloaded by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and Install. The software will restart your phone, once the installation is finished. After that you need to go to the Watch App > General > Software Update and after that leave both your Apple Watch and iphiPhonearging next to each other and make sure that both are connected to Wi-Fi.

Devices that will be able to download Apple watchOS 9 :

Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, Watch SE, Series 6, and Series 7 will be able to download this new watchOS 9.

The latest Watch Series 8, Watch SE (2nd Gen), and the Watch Ultra will come with the watchOS 9 out-of-the-box.

Sleep-tracking features in Apple Watch :

Now, with the new update of watchOS 9, the Apple Watch will be able to track the sleeping schedule in a better way. It will be able to measure the various stages of sleep such as rapid eye moment ( REM), core, or deep sleep, and when the user is awake during the sleep cycle. Now, users can see sleep stage data in the sleep app on Apple Watch and can see more detailed information, like, time spent asleep, alongside additional metrics, heart rate, and respiratory rate, in sleep comparison charts in Health App on iPhone.
Medication tracking:

There are many people out there who need to take medication daily and many people forget to take it on time. Taking the medication daily can be tough- specifically when you have to take them at a certain time. But the new OS feature will help you track your medication in the Apple Health app.
This new feature will remind you to take your medication, helps in keeping track of your numerous medications, and it will be easy to log when you will take them via your watch.

Upgraded workout features:

There will be quite a few updates in the Workout app with watchOS 9 which will help it to compete better with fitness-focused smartwatches.
The new features include the capability to customize your workouts by tailoring your work and recovery intervals; there will be new Heart Rate Zones that will be generated automatically based on your past performance and health data.

There are new ways to pace yourself, like dynamic pacing, if you need to reach a goal quickly, or if you always run the same route. You can also see metrics like Stride Length, Ground Contact Time, and Vertical Oscillation to understand your running capabilities.
