Active caseload grows to 1,690 with 140 new cases in the last 24 hours, per India Covid-19 report.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India registered 140 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on Sunday, bringing the cumulative total to 4.46 crore (4,46,81,921).

While the number of current cases has increased to 1,960, it now accounts for only 0.01 percent of all infections. In the past day, twenty new cases have been added to the active Covid-19 caseload.

The death toll currently stands at 5,30,733, with one fatality reported by Meghalaya and two by Gujarat in the last 24 hours, according to data that was recently updated at 8 a.m.

Daily positivity was measured at 0.10 percent, while weekly positivity was measured at 0.08 percent.

The national Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.81%, according to the health ministry’s website. 4.41.49.228 individuals have recovered from the virus, but the case fatality rate was 1.19 percent.
On Sunday, a health official reported that nine of the nation’s 140 new coronavirus illnesses were found in the Thane region of Maharashtra, bringing the total number of infections there to 7,47,438. The number of fatalities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region district remained steady at 11,969.

According to the ministry’s website, a total of 220.28 billion doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country thus far as part of the statewide vaccination campaign.
