Rahul Gandhi attacks the BJP in Meghalaya by bringing up the anti-conversion bill and the mob lynching.
Rahul Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh are like bullies in school who think they know everything and don’t respect anyone else. He said this at a rally in Meghalaya, which is going to the polls soon, where he urged people to fight these groups without violence and with love and respect for each other’s traditions, cultures, languages, and religions.
Gandhi wore a Khasi man’s traditional waistcoat, which they wore to important ceremonies and festivals. He said he was doing this to show respect for the culture and traditions of the people of Meghalaya, which was also shown in the way he acted. He said that, on the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi puts on the jacket and then “attacks your religion, culture, history, and language.”
“The BJP is attacking all of our states, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Meghalaya, and Jammu and Kashmir. The RSS is going after every single state. And a single idea is being forced on all of them,” Gandhi said. “And that’s something we won’t accept and will fight against.”
The Congress leader said that the BJP makes people hate each other because of their religion by pointing to the anti-conversation bill that was passed in the Karnataka assembly and mob lynchings.
“You know very well what they’re trying to do.”
Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t answer a single question about his recent Lok Sabha speech, in which he compared the meteoric rise of billionaire Gautam Adani to his own political rise. He did this by comparing Adani’s rise to that of Modi.
“I asked PM how he was related to Adani. I also showed a picture of Mr. Adani and Mr. Modi sitting in Mr. Adani’s plane, where Mr. Modi looks as comfortable as if he were at home. “PM Modi didn’t answer a single question,” Rahul Gandhi, an MP from the Congress party, said.
Gandhi also went after Trinamool Congress. He said, “You also know the history of TMC, you know the violence that happens in Bengal…
So you already know what they do. The reason they went to Goa and spent a lot of money was to help the BJP. And this is exactly what Meghalaya is all about. In Meghalaya, the TMC wants to make sure that the BJP wins.
