When and where to watch the Union Budget speech for 2023-24

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, will give the Union Budget 2023-24 to the Indian parliament on February 1 at 11 a.m. Like last year, the session will be given without any paper.

Here’s how to watch Wednesday’s Union Budget speech:

You can watch the session live on the official website for the Union budget of the Indian government, indiabudget.gov.in. The session will also be shown live on Sansad TV, India’s Parliament channel, Doordarshan, the country’s national broadcaster, and other news channels. The Budget will also be shown live on the YouTube channels of Sansad TV, Doordarshan, and the Press Information Bureau (PIB). Live updates can be found on their Twitter pages.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, put the Economic Survey 2022–23 on the table in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

The Economic Survey said that India’s economy will grow by 6.5% in 2023-24, compared to 7% this fiscal year and 8.7% in 2021-22. The pre-Budget Economic Survey said that India will keep growing faster than any other major economy in the world. It also said that the current account deficit could keep growing as long as the prices of commodities around the world stay high, which could put pressure on the Rupee.
