Nagaland election 2023: Congress makes these 5 commitments in its effort to win the Northeastern state

Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress president, made a series of pledges to Nagaland on Tuesday, ahead of the state’s assembly poll. At a rally in the state’s Diphupar village, Kharge accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of ‘looting’ the state and claiming that the party has only caused ‘confusion’ in the guise of finding a peaceful solution to the state’s long-standing political crisis.

Kharge further claimed that the BJP has ‘not highlighted’ the state’s political solution in its manifesto and advised citizens to’seek an alternative road’. “The Congress party is on your side. Take up this matter. “We will also be there for you,” he stated.

Nagaland will hold elections for 60 Assembly seats in a single phase on February 27, with results announced on March 2.

Here are five promises Congress made to the people of Nagaland:

  1. Kharge, resolving the state’s ongoing political issues is “one of the topmost commitments of the Congress party” in their manifesto. “The Congress party will address long-pending and postponed political solutions.”
  2. Congress president, all pupils would receive mandatory sports instruction following their class 10 and 12 exams.
  3. He vowed to set up a mini-secretariat, as well as a directorate of school education, in the eastern Nagaland region. He also promised to start talks with the governments of India and Burma.
  4. Congress will make a 33% reserve for women in metropolitan local governments. He stated that the Congress will provide an old-age pension of $3,000 per month.
  5. Under the MGNREGA plan, the party will pay 100% of the salary. It provides safe drinking water and sanitation in both rural and urban regions. He also declared that the party will provide 0% interest loans for higher education.
